Toomey Campaign Releases Two New Television Ads Featuring Pat Toomey’s Work to Keep Pennsylvanians Safe

North Wales, Pa. -- The Toomey for Senate campaign released two new television ads today which will air across Pennsylvania.

The ads highlight Pat Toomey’s ongoing leadership in efforts to make Pennsylvania a safer place to live, work, and raise a family.

“Support” features the wife of a Delaware County police officer describing why the law enforcement community supports Pat Toomey. In a time when police have been subjected to scapegoating by numerous politicians, and have been the victims of outrageous violent attacks from criminals and terrorists, Pat Toomey has been an outspoken champion of our brave men and women in blue. In addition to working to ensure the police continue to have access to important safety equipment, Pat Toomey has introduced legislation to strengthen penalties against violent criminals who target police and increase financial aid for children of fallen officers when they go to college. Pat is honored to have the endorsement of the Pennsylvania State Troopers Association.

“What’s Right” features gun safety advocate Nancy Grogan praising Pat’s leadership on keeping guns out of the hands of criminals. While Toomey is a strong advocate of protecting the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding Americans, he joined Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin in leading the effort to require a criminal record background check for gun purchases at gun shows and from online sales. In recognition for his work, Pat Toomey received the Sandy Hook Promise Champion award last summer.

“Pennsylvanians know Pat Toomey is not afraid to stand up for our police when others don’t, and he’s not afraid to cross party lines to lead the way for common sense efforts to stop criminals from getting guns,” said Toomey for Senate campaign manager Peter Towey.

These ads follow the first Toomey ad that aired last year featuring another accomplishment in his commitment to public safety -- his successful effort to pass legislation that protects children from sexual predators in schools.
